Sofa 3D Models

Free sofas ranging from compact two-seaters to deep modular lounge arrangements — channel-stitched, bolster-back, cane-framed and fully upholstered forms in velvet, woven fabric and leather. These are finished pieces rather than blockouts: seams, cushion sag and frame detail are modelled, which is what matters when a sofa sits in the foreground of a render rather than against the back wall.

Sofa 3D Models for Architectural Visualization

Sofas are difficult objects to fake. They are large, they are usually close to the camera, and every viewer has an intuitive sense of how upholstered foam behaves under load — which means the errors that would pass unnoticed on a cabinet are immediately visible here. The range covers compact two-seaters, deep bench-seat forms, modular arrangements and cane-framed pieces. The distinction that matters most in practice is seat depth. Deep bench sofas with a single unbroken cushion read as relaxed and informal, and they need generous floor area around them or the room feels cramped. Tighter two-seat forms with separate cushions read as more formal and tolerate confined spaces. Modular arrangements solve open-plan layouts but introduce a specific risk: the seams between modules must line up with the composition, because a seam falling across the visual centre of the frame is distracting in a way that is hard to unsee. Construction detail is modelled rather than implied — seams, piping, cushion sag and frame joints are geometry. This matters because the standard shortcut of implying seams with a normal map falls apart at foreground distances, where the silhouette against the background reveals that the edge is actually straight. Being able to place one of these in the first third of the frame without it degrading is the main practical benefit. Upholstery is velvet, woven fabric and leather over wood and metal frames. Channel-stitched velvet is the most demanding combination in the catalogue: the channels create alternating light and shadow bands, and velvet's sheen response inverts the usual expectation, so the two effects can either reinforce each other into something convincing or cancel into flat grey. It is worth a test render before committing. Typical use is living rooms and open-plan spaces, with office and hospitality lounges close behind. In commercial visualisation these are often the only soft element in an otherwise hard-surfaced scene, which makes them disproportionately responsible for how warm the render feels. Supplied as 3ds Max scenes with Corona Renderer materials, plus FBX, OBJ, 3DS and MTL exports. Materials do not carry across renderers; geometry and UV layout do. Woven fabric, velvet and leather textures from the surface library can be applied directly when the supplied upholstery does not match the scheme.
